1st day of kindergarten

Monday, the 24th was the first day of kindergarten of Kendra. It was very exciting! We had been practicing for a few weeks, going to bed early and waking up early. I wasn't real sure how it would go. Kendra always acts genuinely excited, but as an event approaches you can see the anxiety rise and sometimes spills over on her cheeks (i.e. preschool). It was not the case this time! She gave me a hug, kiss, and goodbye Mom and marched into her classroom with the rest of the children! There was another mother there, who said she was going to cry. I thought, I could cry too, but I'm not going to think about it. I didn't. I'm so excited to see her embark on this fun, new adventure! I love you!

Brynlee was looking at the blog with me and as soon as she saw Kindra she started yelling "CUTE, CUTE" Kindra does look so cute for her first day of school.

Hip Hip Hooray for school! I still can't believe she is old enough. But who am I to talk when I don't feel old enough to have a 5th grader!!

Thanks for the compliment on my cakes. When I grew up my mom always made a special cake for each of us and with 8 siblings anything just for one of us was always cool. I remember my cakes more than anything else from my birthdays. I am trying to do the same thing for my kiddos and it is my favorite part of their day. I can't take credit for very many of the ideas. I look online and copy someone else's work! LOL
